Indonesia Exchance Program

By: Mr.Chay Mit, Student from the College of Law

The EU-SHARE Scholarship program is a higher education exchange program among Universities in ASEAN.

Before applying, we sought detailed information of the program and then followed this up continuously. In the meantime, we were assisted by the Dean and the team working in The University of Cambodia College of Law. Together, we discussed how to apply for the program, and then worked on the documentation until we were accepted.

The first day of my arrival in Binus Square (the dormitory of Binus University in Indonesia), I felt excited, although stressed about everything new. For example, most of the food was spicy and affected my stomach so that I hurt every morning and required medical care.

But I quickly recovered and began exploring new places to better understand Indonesian life and Jakarta.

I met many friends from different places and countries, cultures and languages. We used English as the main language, which was also a good opportunity to improve my English proficiency.

During my exchange, I was also able to demonstrate aspects of Cambodia culture at events for international students, and I participated in as many of these as possible.

As a result of this program, my sense of self-sufficiency was strengthened, my understanding of other cultures was enhanced, and my study skills enabled me to gain good marks. I was very proud to be a representative of Cambodia and The University of Cambodia College of Law.
